May's Newsletter: Straight from the Horse's Mouth

Straight from the Horse's Mouth

It’s Giving Day Derby Time!

The ranch has been buzzing with excitement as we gear up for the Giving Day Derby happening May 6th–7th! From galloping horses to bouncing goats, everyone seems ready for the biggest “race” of the year.

The Giving Day Derby is all about coming together to support the mission of Bit of Faith Ranch. Every gift helps create more moments of connection, inclusion, joy, and peace for the individuals and families we serve while helping our programs continue to grow.

To make things even more fun, supporters can donate toward their favorite horse’s racing campaign and help decide who makes it to the Winner’s Circle — and earns the coveted Derby trophy and carrots!

And as a special bonus, Giving Day Derby donors will also be entered for a chance to win a Cinemark swag giveaway.

We can’t wait to see our community come together for this exciting event — it’s sure to be a photo finish!

As we wrap up our Spring Season, we’re already preparing for Summer Adaptive Riding and Mustang Learning sessions. Behind the scenes, our horses, volunteers, and team are working together to get ready for another season filled with growth, confidence-building, and connection.

We’re also excited for this month’s Movie Outing on May 30th to see The Breadwinner. These outings continue to be a meaningful way for our community to connect, laugh together, and build friendships outside the ranch.

And for our Moms + Caregivers Roundup, we’re adding a little extra fun with a country dance lesson on May 26th! It’s all about trying something new, spending time together, and having fun — no dance experience required.

There’s so much to look forward to this summer at the ranch!

One of the biggest highlights this month was welcoming a young adult discipleship group from The Church of Eleven22 to the ranch. They jumped right in serving as coaches and sidewalkers during riding sessions while also helping with projects around the ranch, from painting and mulching to cleaning stalls and removing fencing. Their encouragement and willingness to serve made a huge impact on our entire ranch family.

We also had a wonderful Mustang Learning Program evening filled with hands-on learning, teamwork, and creativity. Participants helped with horse care, planted vegetables, built nesting boxes, and practiced horsemanship skills through the trail obstacle course.

The evening ended with a fun DIY project and meaningful conversation focused on encouraging one another and focusing on the good in our lives. Moments like these remind us how special this community truly is.

We’d like to send a big YE HAW and heartfelt thank you to the Fleming Family Foundation for their generous support of our Adaptive Riding and Mustang Learning Sessions!

Because of your generosity, we’re able to continue creating meaningful equine-assisted experiences that help build confidence, connection, and important life skills for the individuals and families we serve.

Your support helps keep the mission of Bit of Faith Ranch moving forward each and every day, and we are truly grateful for the impact you make on our ranch community!
