April Newsletter: Spring Has Arrived!

Thank You to The Ruth and Hal Launders Charitable Trust

We are thrilled to announce that we have received an additional grant from The Ruth and Hal Launders Charitable Trust! Their initial support allowed us to welcome a wonderful new member to our herd—Diesel. With his big personality and impressive ability to open stall doors, Diesel has certainly brought plenty of entertainment to the ranch!

As a former performance and trick-riding horse, Diesel has found a well-deserved place to call home here at Bit of Faith Ranch. He is quickly learning how to best support our riders and participants during sessions.

We are incredibly grateful that The Ruth and Hal Launders Charitable Trust has chosen to honor us once again with a $10,000 grant. This generous gift will help support Diesel’s continued care as well as other programs at the ranch.

New Trail Course for Spring Riders

We were thrilled to introduce a new trail course to our Spring season riders! This Level 1 Trail Course features obstacles similar to those encountered while riding out on a trail, such as bridges, backing up, stepping over branches, ducking under limbs, and one of our favorites—checking the mail!

One exciting challenge involves retrieving an item from the mailbox, transferring it from one hand to the other, and placing it on a post on the opposite side of the horse. These exercises not only build  riding skills but also enhance coordination, problem solving and confidence. We can’t wait to see our riders progress as they practice these obstacles each session this Spring!

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who joined us for Volunteer Day to help prepare the arena and facilities for the new riding season. Special shout out to Daniel and Thomas for sanding and painting our new ground poles in Bit of Faith Ranch’s signature colors! The trail course looks fantastic, and we’re so grateful for our brave horses, who are carefully guiding our riders through these new challenges.
